GP SURGERY VALUATION CASE STUDY – The practice team at Cofton Medical Centre needed to instruct a surveyor to provide them with surgery valuation advice as a result of proposed partnership changes. Luke Powell, who was tasked with securing this advice, was keen to ensure that the partners could be confident in the valuation advice provided. “It was important to us that the valuer we instructed was an expert in the valuation of GP surgeries. The practice had previously worked with Bryan and on the basis of this previous experience, we approached him to provide a proposal to undertake this work. The process of instructing Bryan was nice and straight forward as he was able to explain the process clearly, the information we would need to provide and exactly what would be included within his report.”

Bryan enjoyed revisiting a surgery which he had worked with previously, “ It is always good to continue a working relationship with a practice. It is really important to me that the GP partners are confident in the advice they receive; I understand that for the partners, investing in their practice premises is a significant commitment so they need to be assured that this is done on the basis of sound, professional advice.”

Like most practices, we don’t have a great deal of expertise in valuing surgeries, so I would recommend working with someone with genuine expertise and understanding of the valuation of GP surgeries.
